What are the withdrawal options on dYdX Chain?

There are two main options to onboard onto dYdX Chain.

  1. Withdrawing via a centralized exchange (Coinbase): Coinbase is currently the only centralized exchange to support withdrawals from dYdX Chain.

  2. Withdrawing to another chain's wallet address: Traders may also withdraw funds to a destination address on any supported chain. Withdrawal times and fees will vary depending on the destination chain and asset.

What does the withdrawal flow look like?

Traders will be able to withdraw funds by clicking “Withdraw” at the top right hand corner of the trading panel. There will be a “Withdraw” panel that pops up and gives the trader the option to withdraw.

Withdrawing via a centralized exchange (Coinbase)

  • Insert destination address

  • Select network of choice under “Destination” dropdown

  • Asset will be autofilled to USD Coin

  • Indicate the amount to withdraw from dYdX Chain

Withdrawing to another chain's wallet address

  • Insert destination address

  • Select network of choice under “Destination” dropdown

  • Select asset of choice under the “Asset” dropdown

  • Indicate the amount to withdraw from dYdX Chain

  • Select the slippage percentage amount: 0.1%, 0.25%, or custom amount. Setting a custom slippage percentage allows traders to have more control over the execution of their withdrawal by specifying the maximum slippage they are willing to accept.

Withdrawal rate limits and gating

In an effort to reduce risk across the protocol, withdrawals can be rate limited and gated in specific circumstances.

Withdrawal rate limits:

  • As a default setting, withdrawals of Noble USDC are rate limited to max(1% of TVL, $1mm) per hour

  • As a default setting, withdrawals of Noble USDC are rate limited to max(10% of TVL, $10mm) per day

These rate limit parameters can be updated by governance.

Withdrawal gating:

  • All subaccount transfers and withdrawals will be gated for 50 blocks if a negative collateralized subaccount is seen in state and/or can't be liquidated or deleveraged

  • All subaccount transfers and withdrawals will also be gated for 50 blocks if a 5+ minute chain outage occurs.
